School of Justice

SATURDAY, JULY 9TH @ 9:30-11:30am

Amos 5:24 – But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream

Join us Saturday, July 9th at time 9:30am for our Summer Equipping Schools Series, the School of Justice.

  • Learn about God’s heart for justice and how the Lord is moving in Columbus.
  • Learn from a local Columbus Pastor and Columbus Police Officer.

Tom Edwards

Tom Edwards is dedicated to helping communities, organizations, families, and individuals become healthy and vibrant. His vast wealth of corporate, organizational, ministerial, and social service experience has equipped him to be an asset to the communities and clients he serves. He recently relinquished his roles as Director of RESTORE Whitehall, and Lead Pastor of Equippers City Church. He is embarking upon new endeavors, to be announced soon.

Tom earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Science in Theology from the Springmill College of Bible Theology, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education and Leadership from the Midwest Theological Seminary. Tom is also a Certified Sr. Consulting Associate of Church Growth Resources, Certified Myers Briggs Facilitator, a Certified 5S Facilitator, a Certified Drexler-Sibbet Team Performance Facilitator, former member of the Midwest Gang Investigators Association, former member of the Society for Human Resource Management, a former member of the American Society for Training & Development, and a former Ohio Department of Corrections Security Threat Specialist/Trainer.

Tom has consulted with numerous churches, fellowships, denominations, schools, non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, and governmental agencies and entities. Yet, his greatest honors are being the husband of Pat Edwards for 25 years, the father of Audra for 23, and a follower of Jesus Christ for 50.

Ken Lawson

Ken Lawson has been a Columbus Police Officer for 34 years.  He learned about human trafficking in 2003 and has been active in addressing it since.  Much of his work took place off duty.  He has spoken nearly 400 times on the topic, advised on Ohio’s legislative response, lobbied to establish Rescue and Restore coalitions in Ohio, developed community initiatives in response and trains children services caseworkers statewide.  He was sought as a consultant by the International Association of Chiefs of Police Violence Against Women Project and Rand Corporation.  Ken attended a White House roundtable that addressed human trafficking.  He currently works as a victim services liaison officer for CPD’s PACT Unit on community initiatives, policy development, community education and liaison to the anti-trafficking community.  Officer Lawson received the 2019 Mark Losey Distinguished Law Enforcement Service Award from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

This event will take place in the Eden Center.
