About Us

Mission & Vision

Garden City exists to minister to the Lord as a family and obey Him daily.

To be an Apostolic hub, awakening and equipping the Bride of Christ to bring transformation in the city of Columbus by advancing the Kingdom of God, starting on the westside of Columbus!

Garden City’s focus is to pursue communion with Jesus, by hosting His presence, to do life together in community as brothers and sisters in Christ and to use our influence to cultivate our city for the advancement of God’s Kingdom as we look forward to the return of Jesus our King.

Our Story

With a vision to fill the streets of Columbus with the light of Jesus, Gerald and Lauren Murphy said yes to God’s will and the path set before them when they agreed to plant a new ministry on the westside of Columbus. Garden City Church began meeting in September of 2020 at its current location. The bounty of blessings that has been bestowed upon the community of volunteers, partners and contributors has been immeasurable. As they continue to remain faithful to God’s purpose and His plan, their desire is to see Columbus awakened spiritually and for the people of the city to encounter the gospel of God’s Kingdom.

Gerald and Lauren have been married for 15 years. They have four beautiful children – Rilynn, Adilynn, Nehemiah and Taelynn.

Pastoral Counsel

Our pastoral council members are responsible for providing spiritual guidance, accountability, and support to the leadership of Garden City Church, as well as helping to make financial decisions.

They all have city-wide and local influence as pastors/leaders of a congregation and/or non-profit with fruit. Each council member has specific leadership, spiritual, and ministry skill sets that they bring to the table.

Our Partners

When partnering with an organization, Garden City looks for four areas of focus within that organization.
An organization must be gospel-centered, sustainable, transformational and relational.
